Cindy and Don Adams – Hawaii Weddings

July 24th, 2008

Pukalani_Falls_HawaiiAloha!

We were married at Above Heaven’s Gate on June 24, 2008. Our experience was utterly incredible! Wow! The weather, the location, the inspiration, the birds, the flowers, the staff were too wonderful for words! We just received the wedding video and it is incredible. It made us both laugh and cry. The DVD put to music was amazing. “Somewhere Over the Rainbow” and our pictures give us both such inspiration in our new found journey in a life together as husband and wife.

The Reverend Captain Howie is a man of profound spirituality and superb intellect. His words will enhance the good times and provide an anchor during difficulties inherent in any marriage. Captain Howie asked us what our religious preference is and what our religious denomination is and we looked at each other like deer in the headlights. We didn’t answer and then he asked a simple question. “Do you believe in God”? We answered, “Yes.”, and the ceremony proceeded. It was the perfect blend of religion and spirituallity for us. The ceremony had great meaning. We will rely on his words for many years to come.

Many marriages begin in a time of great stress. Families and the participants get caught up in the minutia of the event. The staff at Above Heaven’s Gate can take care of all of that, from hair, nails and flowers to photography and video. Their taste and vision is impeccable. The beauty of this is that the participants can leave the details to them and concentrate their focus on the reality of the most profound commitment they will ever enter. We highly recommend that the participants take a couple of days to quiet their minds and spirits before the ceremony to fully realize the potential of their marriage. The Windward part of O’ahu is a perfect setting for doing this.

Our deepest thanks to The Captain and Staff for making this event the low-stress wedding of our dreams.

Aloha,

Gina and Chris Manibusan – Hawaii Wedding

July 24th, 2008

Hawaiian_Wedding_LocationsDear Above Heaven’s Gate,

Gina and I just wanted to thank you for such a great and relaxing day. From the start it was not your typical “Ceremony,” which was exactly what we were looking for. From Pukalani Falls Garden and the “Hobbit House”… to the ceremony on the beach…it is something Gina and I will always treasure. If people are looking for something different and then Capt. Howie is just what they need.

Thank you again,
Gina and Chris Manibusan

Beach_WeddingsAloha,

How are you guys doing? This e-mail is from myself and Gerardo who were married on Waimanalo Beach on June 15th of this year. This mail is sort of long overdue. I meant to write to say MAHALO, but time flies, and I tend to procrastinate and oh well, here we go now.

First and the foremost, let me start off by saying THANK YOU SO MUCH for making our wedding beautiful and stress-free. In the planning stage, I mostly dealt with your office manager Chrissy. She was very nice, helpful, resourceful and approachable. At the same time she was professional and to the point which I liked a lot. THUMBS UP, Chrissy!

The beach location Angel’s Bay was WONDERFUL. I especially enjoyed the fact that it is not crowded and we were not being ogled by tons of bystanders, tourists and passerby’s during or after our ceremony.

We stayed just down the street from you at the B&B cottage you recommended. It was very convenient and comfortable and the accommodation itself was just perfect. I’d definitely recommend it to others. THUMBS UP, again on your recommendation and the pick of the B&B.

Next up, the photographer we worked with, Fernando, was PHENOMENAL. We reeeeaaaally enjoyed having him as our photo-man. He made us feel totally relaxed and comfortable in front of the camera. He took his time and didn’t rush us one bit – even though it was a father’s day weekend… and I’m sure he was itching to get home and spend time with his family. I am sure he doesn’t get paid by the hour so he could’ve tried to rush it all and get it done and over with but he didn’t. He was great to work with. Furthermore, he was full of ideas and recommendations as to where to go out to eat, what to do, and things to see. Thanks to him, we had a beautiful lunch after our wedding at the Blue Water Café & Grill. Then, we had another graet meal at the best Thai food place food place on the north shore… and very inexpensive. TWO THUMBS UP for Fernando!

Our make-up artist, Wade, was really super nice too and did an excellent job, appropriate for the beach, nothing overdone.

MAHALO so much for everything. Have a wonderful day in paradise.
Warm thoughts and best wishes!

Take care,

Vow_RenewalDear Captain Howie and the Gang,

Tropical sun mixed with cooling trade winds and pristine waters make Hawaii a literal heaven on earth and you have captured that feeling of paradise at Pukalani Falls. This virtual garden is resplendent with vibrant colored flowers and birds making it a story book setting for the wedding ceremony.

From the moment we arrived you greeted us with warmth and caring not as paying guests but like member of your own family. As a recent breast cancer survivor, the renewing of our marriage vows was very important to me. Our wedding 25 years ago was all about the production but with the magical setting and Captain Howie and the gang handling every aspect of the preparations, our vow renewal was all about the love of two people during the past 25 years and our re-commitment to each other.

Chrissy was absolutely wonderful as our photographer. She spoke with us several times arranging all the details of the ceremony, but words can not describe our joy when we first viewed our CD photo album. Chrissy worked with us for an hour taking numerous shots to ensure that she captured every emotion. Anyone can take a picture but Chrissy was able to capture the emotion of the moment on film. Looking at the photos, the eyes just sparkle with the love and romance and all the smiles were genuine and not staged. By getting to know us Chrissy was able to capture the very best of us in each photo right down to dancing on the beach (we met and fell in love on the dance floor). The photos were exquisite.

Once again, this will be a moment that we cherish for the rest of our lives – Mahalo nui loa!

Cheap_Hawaii_WeddingsDear Above Heaven’s Gate,

Sorry I’ve not emailed you sooner – there just seems to have been so many things to sort out since we got home. Our photos arrived just in time for our wedding reception – thank you so much for sending them out so quickly.

Lee and I really can’t thank you all enough for the fantastic job you did for us. Literally everything was perfect – the location and the flowers were absolutely beautiful and your whole team was so friendly it really was the perfect wedding. I don’t know how the evening managed to be so relaxed and fun, yet deeply special and emotional all at the same time but it certainly was. All of our guests had a wonderful time too and there was many a tear of joy.

We’re absolutely thrilled with the DVD and the photos. Please pass on our sincere thanks to everyone who helped not only taking them but also editing and shipping them so quickly for us. It meant a lot to us to be able to share them with our friends and family at our wedding reception back home.

I’ve just visited your website and love the new look.
Keep up the good work and thanks again!!

Waterfall_Weddings_in_HawaiiDear Above Heaven’s Gate,

We would like to thank Captain Howie and his team for the incredible job that they did for us. We arrived there and from the beginning they were very warm and pleasant, like friends we have known for years! We haven’t received the pictures and video yet, but I am confident that they will be just as he promises. We saw some samples and were immediately sold! It was truly a romantic experience and something that Chrissy and I will remember forever!
