Susanne and Philip Cheung – Hawaii Wedding

December 26th, 2008

212Hello everyone at Above Heaven’s Gate!

Thank You for everything! We both loved our Hawaii wedding ceremony on the beach with Capt. Howie. The experience deeply resonated in our hearts and minds and continues to do so. Your thoughtful planning and openhearted approach helped us to be fully present for this most sacred moment in our life. Thank you Capt. Howie for your generosity of spirit. And many thanks also to Fernando, he consummate Hawaii wedding photographer, for the beautiful photos. And thanks as well to to Jenny for extending her knowledge about the islands. We will recommend you highly to anyone planning to get married in your beautiful islands.

Love,

Kirsten and Justin Laufer – Destination Wedding Hawaii

214Dear Captain Howie and his crew!

How can we even begin to say thanks for all you have given us and done for us? With your assistance, every one of our Hawaiian wedding dreams (and then some) have come true. The wedding honestly went better than we even hoped could be possible. When we look at the pictures, it’s still so hard to believe that our ceremony was so beautiful! Justin and I owe it all to you. Thank you so much for everything.

In particular, Capt. Howie’s ceremony was incredibly inspiring. We had a mixture of religious beliefs at our wedding (Jewish, Christian, agnostic, atheist, Buddhist, Shinto), and somehow your sentiments touched everyone perfectly. A retired family friend came up to us after the wedding and stated that this was the first wedding she’d ever been to where she actually agreed with and enjoyed the sentiments. Justin and I – having had a few family tensions that arose after the wedding – keep laughing and asking ourselves “How could Captain Howie have known our ship would hit rough seas so soon?”

I wanted to share with you a comment from the husband of my best friend. They got married almost two years to the day prior to our wedding in a traditional wintery ceremony in Connecticut. Their ceremony was very different from ours, but also very beautiful. After our ceremony, Joe commented to us that “You know, I honestly thought there was no wedding in the world that could be as beautiful as ours. Yours, though, was absolutely amazing!” We only have you to thank for making our wedding in Hawaii as beautiful and touching as it was.

Enclosed are some emails from friends I thought you’d enjoy. We have sent the online photo gallery to many friends, so I apologize for the extra traffic! In the meantime, all the best to you, Deva, Jenny, Chrissy as well as the parrots, cats and your beautiful dog Shark. Best wishes and Aloha for 2009.

003_Goldsmith_9535Dear Capt. Howie,

We cannot put into words how beautiful and spiritual our Hawaiian wedding experience was with you. You provided us with everything we could possibly want. All 13 of us who attended were mesmerized by your words.

It was truly a unique experience. None of us can stop talking about it. You provided us with memories to take with us forever. Thank you again for such a special time. We will never forget your 3 words… “DON’T JUMP SHIP”.

Regards

Cristy and Carl D’Agostino – Beach Weddings Hawaii

December 4th, 2008

205Dear Capt Howie and everyone at Above Heaven’s Gate,

Sorry about the delay. We have had a crazy couple weeks planning and throwing a reception. We did a planned “wedding in Hawaii” elopement and then came back and celebrated with our family and friends. We just wanted to make sure we told you how much we appreciate the ceremony, the flowers, and the memories. The ceremony was very unique and personal. Not the usual that one would normally hear. Thank you so much for your words and thoughts you gave us that day. My flowers were beautiful and perfect. I trusted that they would be just as I expected and was not let down at all. The haku lei and matching bouquet were so gorgeous. As we were walking down the beach holding hands for the photographer we smiled at each other and commented how our wedding day couldn’t have been any more perfect. Thank you for helping create that for us. We have been advising everyone to do the same. A beautiful, personal Hawaii wedding on Angels Bay Beach with Capt. Howie… what could be better?

Thank you so much!
