Dear Captain Howie,

Thank you so much for being a part of our special wedding in Hawaii! You married my beautiful bride, Rosie, and myself on November 12, 2011. I have to say, the day was perfect! From the girls in the office, to the makeup artist and photographers – everything was incredible. Every person we encountered was helpful, friendly, and professional.

We just received our photos and video and are extremely pleased. The Pukalani Falls Garden, Angels Bay Beach and the ultra exotic Hobbit House made for some amazing scenes in our wedding photos.

Both Rosie and I, and our families were so very pleased by the heartfelt ceremony you performed. We were happy it was not a cookie-cutter wedding, as we are not a cookie-cutter couple. We were so happy with you, we named one of our aquarium fish “Captain Howie”. Although, despite my training, he still can’t blow the conch shell.

Thank you and your spectacular team of Hawaii weddings planners again for making our day so memorable!

Mahalo,

Brett & Rosie Fletcher

To every couple looking for an amazing Hawaiian Wedding:

My husband and I got married by Captain Howie on October 5th and couldn’t have been happier with our decision.

Pukalani Falls Garden and the Hobbit House are other- worldly.  The Captain, Fernando, Deva, Wade, Jodi, Sara, and Ruben (the parrot) were very welcoming and made our special day a warm and memorable experience.

We weren’t sure what to expect and are truly so happy with our choice.  We highly recommend the Captain and his team of professional Hawaii wedding coordinators to anyone considering a Hawaiian wedding.

Thanks for the great experience on our special day!

With Aloha,

Susan and Chris Richter

Florentina & Thomas Gannott • Nuernberg, Germany • A Wedding and Honeymoon in Hawaii

December 8th, 2011

Dear Captain Howie and all the wonderful people surrounding you,

Yesterday we received our pictures. Watching the slideshow and listening to our ceremony, immediately brought us back to the wonderful time we spent at Pukalani Falls Garden and Angels Bay.

When Thomas asked me to marry him, on a freezing cold and snowy night, I said yes – of course. But, I had one wish. I wanted it to only be the two of us, at a secluded and especially warm place. So, we decided to rearrange our travel plans to include a wedding and honeymoon in Hawaii.
I searched the Internet for a special place in the Hawaiian Islands, which wasn’t easy – until I stumbled over the lovely website of Above Heaven’s Gate. Watching the videos, looking at beautiful pictures of other couples, and reading testimonials convinced us to have our wedding in Hawaii with Captain Howie and his gang. We have never regretted our decision.

Beginning with our first call, the ‘girls at the office’ made me feel that I could have arranged my whole wedding in 15 minutes. Thank you so much for the excellent support before our wedding, which is not so easy between Hawaii and Germany. For instance, we got a list of places to stay. That’s how we found the wonderful B&B at Angles Bay Beach. Our hosts were awfully nice, our room was bright and comfortable, and we got the best breakfast of our whole vacation.

We booked a Sunrise Hawaii Wedding. While my husband took a nap on the couch, Wade did a great job with my hair and make-up. Thank you so much, Wade! It looked beautiful in real life and in the photos. Later on, Fernando took a bunch of pictures. After a few minutes of nervousness, we became really comfortable with Fernando’s humor and high spirits. He was open to every idea we had and tried a lot of crazy things to get photos that fit our personalities. In the end, we had to admit that all our earlier worries had been utterly uncalled for. The photos are amazing! Everybody agrees, and is at least a little jealous.

After the photo session, we had our actual wedding ceremony with Captain Howie who we had met two days earlier on a catamaran trip. We sailed on Capt. Howie’s colorful catamaran around Chinaman’s Hat and thoroughly forgot time while gliding over the waves. It was a trip we will never forget!

During our adventure, we were fortunate to have met ‘the cool’ Captain Howie and his spiritual self, Narahari, a man full of wisdom about life and love in our world. This experience brought a very personal touch to our wedding. The ceremony was so emotional for the two of us. We started to cry back home as we listened to the mp3- audio file Captain Howie made for us.
We want to thank all the people at Hawaiiweddings.com and, of course, first and foremost, Captain Howie, for making our wedding such a special and unforgettable experience.

If you are planning a Hawaii Wedding, even or especially if you are from somewhere far, far away like we are, do not hesitate to choose Above Heaven’s Gate!

Aloha from Germany,

Dear Captain Howie and Crew,

It has been several months now, but it seems like yesterday.

Our Hawaii wedding day, Sept. 15th 2011, was truly a day in paradise!
Your kindness and facility made our marriage ceremony complete.

Here are some comments from my bride, Vanya:

From the very beginning, it was our wish to plan a wedding ceremony with a unique flair. We made the right choice! The web site was spot on. The flowers, the setting, it was all breath taking!

Everyone involved made us feel welcome. We felt as if our Hawaiian wedding was the most important thing to be done! Ruth did a great job at helping me look my best and we loved your comical yet charming parrot, Ruben!

Our families love the magnificent pictures! Everyone should consider having the wedding video done. It is hard to absorb and remember a ceremony while it is happening. We love to watch ours again and again! It captures the candid moments and makes us smile every time we see it!

Bill says:
Thank you for a magical and spiritual day and ceremony. Well done!

Hugs and best regards,

Vanya and Bill Rickmeyer

December 5th, 2011

Dear Captain Howie,

First, my apologies for our delay in sending you our thanks and know that the lateness does not in any way diminish our thoughts or feelings of the most wonderful wedding experience of our lives. You performed the wedding ceremony in Hawaii for our daughter Holly on October 29, 2011 and made her dream wedding a reality.

The journey that led us to you for our daughter’s wedding in Hawaii began in October 2010 when my daughter, Holly, became engaged. She immediately knew that she did not want a traditional wedding, but wanted to get married on a beach with white sand and blue waters.

Admittedly, I was concerned and not sure what to expect. Now, however, there is no doubt in my mind that the ceremony you performed was much better than any local pastor would have. As you state on your website, you are not for everyone and that is exactly what made you right for us. Your free spirit and spiritualism guide you well. The blowing of the conch shell was very impressive, a perfect touch at a beach wedding in Hawaii. You spoke of God, love, family, nature as well as the beauty and importance of them all. You made the parents and guests feel comfortable by including us all in the wedding. As I share our pictures, I am constantly told that Holly had a perfect wedding. Nobody could imagine anything better. All we had to do was take the first step and make the call to Above Heaven’s Gate. Your staff made it so easy for us. We simply had to answer a few questions and before we knew it, we had a dream Hawaii beach wedding waiting for our arrival.

We thank Hawaii wedding planners, Jodi and Sara, for their patience and advice, not only on questions concerning preparations but general questions about getting around the island and lodging. They were always happy, polite, and very helpful – even when it was repetitive information we were requesting, many ‘what-if’ questions, or changing the timeline. Jodi and Sara responded to our e-mails in a timely and courteous manner. You ladies are so good at your jobs that I kept wondering what I was missing. A conversation or two with your staff and things are done. Thank you!

Thank you Wade, for emphasizing Holly’s natural beauty with the makeup, and not covering it up. You made us feel comfortable, sharing stories that brought laughter and relaxation. Early laughter helped set a happy mood for our entire day.

Thank you, Fernando, for the beautiful photographs and digital album. You made sure every picture was perfect. Your warm smile and courtesy helped Holly and Cody relax. Their photos will remind us not only of our beautiful Hawaii wedding but also of Hawaii’s tropical splendor.

Thank you, Kapila, for the video memory of that special day. We very much appreciate your expertise in taping and editing to create the perfect Hawaii wedding video. Not only can Holly and Cody see how beautiful the ceremony was to everyone else, they will remember the movement and sounds of the beach. Most of all, they will be able to hear Captain Howie’s words and relive that moment any time they want. We cannot wait to show the video during the upcoming holidays!

Finally, but not least, Captain Howie, thank you for being you. Captain Howie, I like simplicity and elegance and like them best when they are together. I think you will understand that when I say the most sincere thank you I can give is from my heart and is quite simply – Thank you or Mahalo.

Aloha,
June Gibbs

Dear Capt. Howie and Crew,

Thank you so much for making our wedding day so perfect! From the very first phone call, planning our wedding was a breeze. You guys took all of the worrying out of this Bride-To-Be.

My husband and I had originally begun planning the big traditional wedding. A few weeks into planning, we realized that was not for us. We wanted to do a smaller, more intimate ceremony—as in my husband, our son, and myself. Once we decided to elope, we started our search for the perfect place. After many nights of searching the Internet for possible places we ran across your website and decided, Hawaii weddings were for us. Your beautiful pictures and videos instantly awed us. I decided to make the call and was surprised when Capt. Howie himself answered the phone. I almost didn’t know what to say as I expected to get some sort of answering service. From that day on, Capt. Howie’s staff – Jodi and the other girls worked hard to answer my questions. They all helped me sort out the plans for the Big Day. Even though we live far away (in Washington State), I felt like we was their priority.

Capt. Howie also suggested a nanny for our son who stood by and helped relieve the stress of having to worry about him not cooperating during our photo shoot.

Wade did a fabulous job (to say the least) on my hair and make-up. I felt like a princess when he was done with me! J

Pukalani Falls Garden and Angel’s Bay were even prettier in real-life. The pictures and video we have of our day will forever capture the memories we shared. Thanks Fernando!

And lastly, the words Capt. Howie spoke at our ceremony were very touching and unique.

We feel very lucky to have had the opportunity to say our “I Do’s” in a truly magical place. Thanks again, Capt. Howie and the gang, for making our Big Day – our wedding in Hawaii so very special!

Bartosz & Iza Blum • Steszewko, Poland • Our Hawaii Wedding Dreams Came True

December 3rd, 2011

Dear Captain Howie and crew,

Here comes the short story of the passionate love we want to share with you all…

It was a cold February morning in Poland with one hot love…

This February I kneeled in front of Iza, asking her to be my wife. She agreed with no hesitation and the most beautiful part of my life began. Immediately, we knew we wanted to have the most amazing wedding in Hawaii ever and decided it should be something extraordinary – the most fantastic thing that we could think of. It took us literally 24 hours to get to Hawaii from Poland. The rest was easy and fascinating. Our Hawaii wedding dreams came true, thanks to you Captain Howie and your team. All of the hours on the plane, jet lag, and not-so-cheap tickets were undoubtedly worth it. Thank you so much for a most touching ceremony, great pictures, and wonderful make-up. Above all, thank you Captain Howie and your fabulous team for all the precious memories!

Best Regards,

December 2nd, 2011

Dear Capt. Howie,

We want to thank you and your team for our great beach wedding in Hawaii on September 19th 2011. Everything went better than we had imagined. The beach at Angels Bay was a dream; the photographer Fernando did his job well. And you, Capt. Howie, are a very friendly, funny, and helpful guy!

Furthermore, we are also happy that the organization worked out so well. The e-mail correspondence with Chrissy, Jodi, and Sara was always friendly. Even after the wedding, you sent us photos and documents faster than expected.  Incidentally, it should be noted at this point that the authorities in Hawaii sent all documents to us after only seven weeks. And, the marriage was recognized in Germany without any problems!

Thank you for everything and greetings from Germany,
