Christina and Michael were married on April 4th 2014 at sunset by Rev. Rich. The location was the spectacular Pirates Cove on Oahu’s North Shore.

Dear Captain Howie, Reverend Rich, and the gang,

Michael and I would like to extend a heartfelt MAHALO to your entire team at Above Heavens Gate Weddings! I could not have imagined a more beautiful and stress-free event, and it all happened because of your magic. At the beginning, we were concerned that you would not be able to accommodate our quick request since we were hoping to turn an event around in four short weeks, but luckily you had an opening at our hoped for date, time, and location. From that moment, I knew it was meant to be.

It also helped that Jodi and I were able to plan the whole thing in less than twenty minutes! Talk about my kind of wedding planning…. if only everything in life was so simple. Sara and Jodi were an absolute joy to work with. They kindly answered all of my silly questions and never made me feel anything less than the most important person they were talking to. I was never rushed during our conversations, and they were prompt in answering all of my emails. I’m sure brides can keep you quite busy so I appreciate all the time they spent with me. I guess I should mention that we had a small and intimate ceremony with only two guests, but that didn’t cause Sara and Jodi to make me feel any less special. Leading up to our wedding, Sara and Jodi checked in on us to make sure we knew how to get the Hawaii marriage license, which was an absolute breeze, as well as finalizing other small details.

On the day of our  wedding, we spoke with Sara, Jodi, and Reverend Rich to make sure everything was on track for a successful event. Being a constant planner, I was appreciative of their friendly calls, reminders, and organization. The hair and make-up artist arrived promptly and got right to work. She and I talked through all the photos I brought along to make sure we were on the same page for the look I wanted to achieve. She had some great suggestions based on her experience on how we could translate those ideas to make me look amazing. She did great, fast work and left me feeling like the best version of myself.

When I got to Pirates Cove for our Hawaii sunset beach wedding, running fashionably late, my fiancé, Reverend Rich, the photographer and videographer were all there waiting for me. We got right to work to make sure we could get enough good lighting for photos and time our ceremony to occur while the sun was setting. The photographer and videographer were absolute professionals. I appreciated their constant direction and patience as we worked through shots and poses. The last thing I wanted to think about was how to pose my body to get the right shot for print, and luckily I didn’t have to. I was able to smile, enjoy myself, and let them catch that happiness.

Hawaii’s weather was so good to us. We were concerned that we would lose the sunset as it had been overcast in the days leading up to our ceremony. Mother Nature really cooperated and gave us a clear sky and beautiful sunset. It was the perfect backdrop to Reverend Rich’s thoughtful words. Hearing the waves crash in the background, while the sun set – I definitely thought I was in a dream, and was so grateful to have found Hawaii Weddings to help me bring my dream into fruition.

Deepest Thanks and Aloha,

Michael and Christina Peters
