Renee and Brock Roberts – Wedding in Hawaii

September 8th, 2008

Renew_VowsDear Captain Howie,

Thank you guys again for the wonderful ceremony and overall experience.
Working with Captain Howie and his team was a true pleasure for my wife and me. The gorgeous Pukalani Falls Garden and Angels Bay coupled with the laid-back atmosphere helped to ease the stress of the most intense time in our relationship. In a go-go-go world, it was refreshing to have a professional experience that was simple; that allowed you to relax, to breathe, to think, to admire and most of all, to smile. Would we do it again? Let’s just say we’ll be contacting Howie and his team when we plan to renew our vows in the years to come.

Mahalo!
Renee and Brock Roberts

P.S I will have you know one of my executives in Princeton said that our photos are the best wedding pictures she has ever seen… Period… And she will be contacting you guys to do her renewal of vows with her husband for their anniversary next year.

We would also like to thank Capt. Howie and your group for making our marriage such a memorable occasion. Rev. Rich, Fernando and Todd all did such a great job and made it so much fun – we loved every moment of our wedding! Coming from Canada with no idea of how things were going to turn out, your team made us feel comfortable and at ease right from the moment we picked up the phone to make inquiries and reservations, through the questions and changes throughout the year, right through the ceremony and signing. Can you imagine planning a wedding 5000 miles away without knowing who was going to perform the ceremony, the details of what was going to happen, or even where all this was going to take place? You would think we were mad, but all your suggestions and guidance were perfect, and we would not have changed a thing! The readings and vows selected were so poignant and meaningful we cannot help but stop and reflect on them whenever we reminisce of our time in Hawaii (which really has been non-stop!). You guys have helped make our wedding the trip of the lifetime and we would like to say, “Mahalo” to you!

Aloha,

Above_Heavens_Gate_HawaiiHowdy, from the other great tourist state! (Colorado)

Sure, feel free to use the pics on your website.
We loved the ceremony! The whole experience was wonderful. Though your Hawaiian musician Dean did make my new mother in law cry ,”that was a good thing”, he was great….
Fernando was wonderful to work with as well.
Your office gals, Chrissy and Jenny helped me survive the stress of a wedding.
Our makeup artist Wade did an awesome job on my hair.
Deva obviously is a great organizer…
and Captain Howie, I am so glad you listed “veteran of Woodstock” as one of your references. Because that was what finalized my decision to go with you!

You were all wonderful. Thanks for making something that could have been so stressful go so smoothly!

Carpe Diem,

We just wanted to take a moment to thank Capt Howie and his staff for the great job they did on our wedding. His hairdresser worked a “miracle” on my hair (after swimming in the ocean for 4 days prior to my wedding!)He also did a great job on my make-up. My family told me that I looked like the same person, only more beautiful than ever. Thanks a million!

1220735331_049_Hussey_9817Aloha,

Thank you so much for an amazing wedding in Hawaii experience! It was stress free, from the planning to the actual day. The perfect day, even though it rained, we got our rainbow and sunshine anyway. Thank you to our makeup artist Wade, you made me look fabulous at 6 am! Thank you Capt. Howie for the breathtaking pictures! We get so many compliments and we can’t stop looking at them. We were still on Oahu and Paul was already emailing the link to our pictures on your website. The flowers were beautiful and thank you for getting the lei’s for our last minute guests.

After the wedding we felt instilled with the spirit of Hawaiian weddings and thus connected to the island. It was such a joyful and peaceful moment. Your words were really touching and heartfelt. We will never forget it.

Cinnamon’s Restaurant was delicious and we got a complimentary cake on our way out. We are already planning our next trip to Oahu for the Hussey Family Reunion in Hawaii. We recommend your Oahu weddings to all!

Hawaii_WeddingOur thanks to Above Heaven’s Gate.

When two people come together in this world, with a pure and wholly committed love for each other, a significant part of one’s life becomes complete.

Colin and I found that love with each other and couldn’t have found a more beautiful or pure way to express that lifelong commitment to each other than with Captain Howie and his crew of Hawaii wedding planners at Above Heaven’s Gate.

These are truly amazing people who made our wedding in Hawaii so much more beautiful and meaningful than we could have ever dreamt possible. Here I was marrying the man of my dreams, thinking nothing in this world could be better, and yet that day, each of you in your own way, managed to bring something extra special to it, something neither one of us dreamed of.

Captain Howie was kind enough to share his beliefs on the truth of love, beauty and nature that surround us, and that for so many of us, we take for granted on a daily basis. It was yet another moment of reflection…. A reminder that no matter how complex life can be, the most pure and basic offerings of this world, are what grounds us. Our lives have truly been enriched by sharing this special moment with him and his crew, and these moments are replayed in our minds over and over again, never to be forgotten.

Words cannot fully express the gratitude we feel for all you have done for us. A mere thank you doesn’t tell you the emotions we will carry for our lives, but from the bottom of our hearts and soul, thank you – for whom you are and all that you do.

Mahalo,

Hawaii_Weddings_OahuCapt. Howie & Everyone,

I just wanted to say THANK YOU for all of your help in putting together such a great wedding for Doug and I. The Pukalani Falls Garden was perfect and the planning and event were completely unstressful…THANKS TO YOU!

We really enjoyed our time there in Oahu with our families and the week ended with a really great ceremony from you. Of course, we enjoyed our time (by ourselves) even more…LOL.

Anyway, thanks again for everything you did for us.

P.S. I’m not sure our son Trevor will ever stop talking about Capt. Howie. Thanks for being so great with the kids!

Pukalani_Falls_HawaiiAloha!

We were married at Above Heaven’s Gate on June 24, 2008. Our experience was utterly incredible! Wow! The weather, the location, the inspiration, the birds, the flowers, the staff were too wonderful for words! We just received the wedding video and it is incredible. It made us both laugh and cry. The DVD put to music was amazing. “Somewhere Over the Rainbow” and our pictures give us both such inspiration in our new found journey in a life together as husband and wife.

The Reverend Captain Howie is a man of profound spirituality and superb intellect. His words will enhance the good times and provide an anchor during difficulties inherent in any marriage. Captain Howie asked us what our religious preference is and what our religious denomination is and we looked at each other like deer in the headlights. We didn’t answer and then he asked a simple question. “Do you believe in God”? We answered, “Yes.”, and the ceremony proceeded. It was the perfect blend of religion and spirituallity for us. The ceremony had great meaning. We will rely on his words for many years to come.

Many marriages begin in a time of great stress. Families and the participants get caught up in the minutia of the event. The staff at Above Heaven’s Gate can take care of all of that, from hair, nails and flowers to photography and video. Their taste and vision is impeccable. The beauty of this is that the participants can leave the details to them and concentrate their focus on the reality of the most profound commitment they will ever enter. We highly recommend that the participants take a couple of days to quiet their minds and spirits before the ceremony to fully realize the potential of their marriage. The Windward part of O’ahu is a perfect setting for doing this.

Our deepest thanks to The Captain and Staff for making this event the low-stress wedding of our dreams.

Aloha,

Gina and Chris Manibusan – Hawaii Wedding

July 24th, 2008

Hawaiian_Wedding_LocationsDear Above Heaven’s Gate,

Gina and I just wanted to thank you for such a great and relaxing day. From the start it was not your typical “Ceremony,” which was exactly what we were looking for. From Pukalani Falls Garden and the “Hobbit House”… to the ceremony on the beach…it is something Gina and I will always treasure. If people are looking for something different and then Capt. Howie is just what they need.

Thank you again,
