We chose to get married at Pukalani Falls/Angel’s Bay when we came across our web search for simple yet meaningful Hawaiian wedding venues. The breath taking scenery and very interesting Captain Howie at the Above Heaven’s Gate webpage immediately caught our attention and the rest is history.
Planning the wedding ceremony in Hawaii was made so easy and completely stress free; all we had to do was make a phone call, book a day and basically show up.
Chrissy and Deva are absolutely amazing. Thank you for all your assistance and attention to detail.
Fernando our photographer was very professional and made us feel very relaxed; he really portrayed the moment that we will always have to remember.
Captain Howie, a true kindred soul who really touched our hearts with his unique divine reason on love and marriage. We cherished the fact that our ceremony was intimate and not a photocopied page out of a book. We couldn’t have asked for a more perfect day.
Mahalo for an unforgettable Hawaiian wedding ceremony.
Much peace and love,

We were trying to figure out how to best describe our wedding and there are just too many wonderful words to describe it so we are just going to tell you it was absolutely… “MAGICAL”. The Hobbit House, gardens and waterfalls are breathtaking and so inviting.
On Capt. Howie’s recommendation, we chose the sunrise wedding. This meant arriving at 4:00 am for the hair and makeup services. We thought we were crazy, but crazy we were not. Capt. Howie was right about how beautiful it would be to have photographs taken at sunrise. Everything he suggested to us proved well worth it. From the first conversation to the wedding itself, nothing could have been more perfect.
We started from our hotel in Honolulu and due to some road construction and some misguided help at the hotel, we got lost and so a stressed bride-to-be I became. However, that all faded away as soon as we pulled in the gate at Pukalani Falls Gardens. We were greeted by Capt. Howie, the warmest and most thoughtful person in the world. Capt. Howie gave welcoming hugs and kisses and you could just feel the overwhelming moment of calmness. From there on out our wedding was everything anyone could hope for and one of the easiest things we have ever done.
Our makeup artist Wade is absolutely astounding at what he does. And at 4:30 am, he does a great job conversing with you and making your hair and make-up flawless.
Our photographer Fernando was so much fun to work with. He knew just how to make two people who do not like to have their pictures taken, feel like a million dollars. We can’t wait to get our photos as we know they will be MAGICAL.
Capt. Howie’s wife Deva was so hospitable and as others have said, you feel like they are old friends of yours.
Our wedding took place on the beach at Angels Bay and was everything, plus more, than we had hoped for. We knew how much we loved each other but Capt. Howie helped us realize how much more we were truly in love. His words were priceless and we keep repeating many of his words to each other. Our favorite message from him was when we were exchanging rings, which were a bit tight. It took both of us working together to put each other’s rings on. Then Capt. Howie said, “Now try to see the symbolism. Just as it took a team effort get your rings on, similarly, it will definitely take a team effort to make your marriage work.” It was incredible how well his words of wisdom fit us exactly.
Anyone getting married in Hawaii would be missing the best experience ever if they didn’t choose Capt Howie and Above Heavens Gate for their, wedding Hawaii style!
Thanks to everyone at Above Heavens Gate for the fabulous memories we will have for a lifetime and beyond.

Dear Captain Howie and staff – an Oahu wedding to remember,
It is impossible to eloquently articulate the most memorable day of our lives. Exquisite, flawless, elegantly casual, professional, and serene are but a few words to start with. I could go on and on and still not fully capture the essence of our lovely wedding. We had the pleasure of sharing our day with 10 family members who were equally impressed.
Wade did a fabulous job on my hair and make-up, all while being absolutely delightful and fun to work with at 4:30 am! My daughter and I chatted with him about the island and exchanged stories as he transformed me into a beautiful bride. He is the very best!!!
Fernando was able to get some outstanding photos both at the stunning Pukalani Falls Garden and on the sandy beach at Angels Bay – even with the challenge of the wind. We chose a sunrise wedding, yet the photos look as though we enjoyed both the Hawaii sunrise and Hawaii sunset weddings – incredible. The (hard copy) photos and the picture album on CD put to music is a memento we will great treasure forever.
The arrangements were simple, handled correctly, and VERY reasonably priced. Even the ladies at the Dept of Health who handled the paperwork of the license commented on how terrific Capt Howie and his staff are about ‘getting it right’.
Everything was amazing – from start to finish – the day could not have been any more perfect!

Captain Howie & the Above Heavens Gate Staff,
We have been trying to find the right words to express how wonderful our wedding experience was!! We are still practically speechless!!
Chrissy & Jody were fantastic. We had “no worries”, which is why we came to the islands to get married in the first place!! We knew from the first two paragraphs of your website that captain Howie was the right choice for us! Although we never imagined how much everyone would EXCEED our expectations!!
From Wade, our hair and makeup artist, to our fabulous photographer Fernando, our day was grand!! Your entire team worked very well together as we let each person do his or her jobs!! They really know what they are doing!!!
The exquisite photographs absolutely blew us away!! All of our friends and family say we should be on post cards!! We just watched our DVD that Chrissy so artfully produced. We laughed and cried all over again!! Your entire team really captured our day and our personalities perfectly!!
If you are considering Captain Howie for your destination wedding in Hawaii, keep an open mind an open heart and definitely consider a Hawaiian sunrise ceremony!! It is well worth the early arrival… just look at our pictures!
Thank you all again Captain Howie and your awesome crew, from the bottom of our hearts, for giving us the Hawaii wedding of our dreams!!
Mahalo,
Deanna and Chance Georgetti
